SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The women's soccer squad will be the first Syracuse team in action this fall when it takes the field at the Embassy Suits Kick Off Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. on Friday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. The Orange faces Robert Morris in the first game of the tournament.

Head coach Phil Wheddon is in his fourth season at the helm of the Syracuse program. Last season, Wheddon guided the Orange ot its most wins since the 2007 season and its best start in BIG EAST play. Syracuse returns six of its top seven scorers from last season, including Tina Romagnuolo, who has led the Orange in scoring in each of the past two seasons.

On defense, sophomore Brittany Anghel returns after recording 91 saves and six shutouts in her freshman campaign.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Robert Morris will meet for the third time in on Friday. The Orange leads the all-time series, 2-0. Friday's match will mark the first time the two schools have played since the 2002 season.

SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
Robert Morris returns eight seniors from last year's squad that finished with a 6-11-2 record. Senior Ayana Davis led Robert Morris with seven goals and 15 points, while fellow senior Jessica Sharik posted a team-high four assists. Jessica Olin saw the majority of time in goal last season for the Colonials. She recorded 115 saves and a 1.62 goals-against average.

ORANGE MOVING UP CAREER LISTS
Three Syracuse student-athletes enter the 2011 season ranked in the top 10 on the Orange's career leader lists. Senior Megan Bellingham and junior Tina Romagnuolo are tied for ninth on the all-time goals scored list, and sophomore Brittany Anghel is sixth on the career shutouts list.
