Bhattacharjee Joins Orange Staff

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse head women's soccer coach Phil Wheddon has announced that Neel Bhattacharjee will join his staff as an assistant coach. Bhattacharjee has spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Boston College.
“Neel brings a wealth of experience to our staff and will be a tremendous asset in all aspects of the program,” Wheddon said. “We are proud to have someone of Neel's caliber joining our staff. I would like to personally welcome Neel and his family to the Syracuse community.”
As a member of the Eagles' staff, Bhattacharjee worked directly with the goalkeepers and served as the recruiting coordinator for the squad that made its first College Cup appearance in 2010. He also assisted in team training and handled a number of administrative aspects for the program, including co-directing the Lady Eagles Soccer School. Prior to joining the Boston College staff, Bhattacharjee was the associate head coach for the George Washington women's soccer program.
In 2006, Bhattacharjee served as the goalkeeper coach for the Under-21 Women's National Team during a competition in England and Scotland. He was the U15 head goalkeeper coach for the Region I Olympic Development Program (ODP) and previously worked with Region IV ODP. He also was the goalkeeper coach with the Scorpions Soccer Club. Bhattacharjee holds a US Soccer Federation "A" License, along with a US. Soccer Federation Goalkeeper License and NSCAA Goalkeeper Level I, II and III, Premier Diplomas.
Bhattacharjee and his wife, Merry, have a 2-year-old daughter, Naiya.
