SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following its 2-0 victory against DePaul on Saturday, the SU men's soccer team (12-4-0, 5-2-0 BIG EAST) clinched a berth in the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2005. The Orange has secured the Red Division's No. 2 seed and a bye into the quarterfinals. Syracuse will host the No. 3 seed in the Blue Division on Saturday, Nov. 3 in the first home postseason match in school history.

This is the Orange's 14th BIG EAST Tournament appearance. Overall, Syracuse is 7-10-1 (.417) in conference tournament play with two titles (1982, 1985). The Orange's last quarterfinal appearance was in 2000.

This season, Syracuse has recorded its most wins in one year since 1988. SU's five BIG EAST Conference victories are the squad's most since 1999. The Orange has 11 shutouts, the most clean sheets in a season for the program since 1986.

Syracuse has one regular-season match remaining. The Orange will play St. John's on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Belson Stadium.
