Vale Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After scoring goals in consecutive matches last week, freshman Jordan Vale was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week by the conference on Monday, Oct. 8. It is Vale's second league honor, as he was also named to the conference weekly honor roll on Sept. 24.

Against Rutgers on Oct. 3, Vale's header in the 28th minute gave the Orange a 1-0 lead in an eventual 2-1 victory. Three days later, he provided SU's lone tally against Louisville.

Vale is tied for the team lead with 13 points (six goals, one assist). He is tied for fourth in the BIG EAST in goals scored and sixth in points.Â

Vale and the Orange travel to Tampa, Fla. on Saturday, Oct. 13 to face USF. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Corbett Soccer Stadium.
