The Syracuse women's soccer team is making a difference in the Syracuse area through its Community Connections Program. The student-athletes and staff have worked with local schools and non-profit groups to make Central New York a better place.
The team conducted a clinic at the Northside CYO for refugees from Bhutan, Burma, Congo, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Ethiopia and the Sudan. In addition, the student-athletes met in small groups with young girls to provide mentoring.
The Community Connections Programs has also included visits to area schools, where members of the squad have given tips for the soccer field and taught life skills as well.
