Men's Soccer Reaches Out to Community

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Members of the Orange men's soccer team spent time last week reading and participating in community service at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in Syracuse. The team will continue this project for the rest of the spring.
“It was a great experience at the Dr. King School,” said freshman defender Skylar Thomas. “As influential people in the Syracuse community, it was an honor to spend an hour with the kids in their environment. Simply interacting with the kids, helping them with school work, and talking to the dedicated staff was an experience I'd like to do again.”
“Today, I felt like a little kid again,” said redshirt sophomore Ryan Tessler. “Having the chance to go into an elementary school and interact with kids in the community really put a smile on my face. It is a humbling feeling anytime you can give back to the community and help out anyway possible. I felt proud to represent Syracuse socccer at the Dr. King School.”
