SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Canada Soccer has announced the roster for its most recent U-20 camp and once again it includes Syracuse University standouts Skylar Thomas and Jordan Murrell. As camp participants, the pair will train from July 1-9 in Mexico with 18 of their countrymen and play two international friendlies versus Mexico.
Thomas and Murrell are staples of the Canadian youth national program, having participated in several camps and international events throughout their careers. The current training camp is part of Team Canada's preparation for next year's CONCACAF Men's U-20 Championship and the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
As rookies at Syracuse last fall, Murrell and Thomas combined for 28 starts along the back line. Murrell contributed one goal, while Thomas was the Orange's top scoring back with five points (two goals, one assist).
