Orange Named To Junior National Teams

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - USA Field Hockey announced its 2012-13 Junior National Field Hockey Teams this week with Syracuse's Jordan Page on the U21 squad and Alyssa Manley on the U19 team.
Selections were made following the completion of Junior National Camp held last week at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The four-day training camp allowed 100 athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of selectors for a spot on the U.S. Junior National Squads.

Page is one of 30 players named to the U21 team that will report to training camp next month at the University of Maryland in preparation for the Junior Pan American Championship in Guadalajara, Mexico, Sept. 8-24.
Page has long been a part of USA Field Hockey. She has played on both the U.S. U17 and U19 teams, most recently competing in Vancouver with the U19 squad in the USA-Canada Challenge in April.
The sophomore midfielder from Denver, Pa. recently competed at the USA Field Hockey High Performance National Championship in Virginia Beach, Va. in June, playing for the North squad will fellow Orange Lauren Brooks, Stephanie Hussey and alum Shannon Taylor. Page finished the tournament with one goal.
Page finished her freshman campaign with 14 points on five goals and four assists. The midfielder assisted on one of SU's two goals in its NCAA Tournament win vs. Richmond. She netted a career-high five points on two goals and an assist vs. Vermont after scoring her first career goal against Rutgers.
Manley is one of 25 players named to the U19 squad. They will report to a training camp in January 2013 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Cali. Following the training camp, select athletes will be announced to a travel squad that will tour internationally in the spring of 2013.
The incoming freshman from Lititz, Pa. recently competed at the USA Field Hockey Futures Elite Championship in Virginia Beach, Va. along with classmates Jenna Knouse and Mailyn Nishiguchi.

Manley tallied 34 points on seven goals and 20 assists as a senior at Warwick High School, leading the Warriors to a 23-5 record. She was named a First-Team High School All-American and the Lancaster Sports Writers & Coaches Field Hockey Player of the Year in 2011, to go along with First-Team All-State, All-Region and All-League honors.
She was previously a member of the U.S. U17 National Team that played in Holland in 2011.
