Hillsman's Dutch Team Reaches Quarters

BUCHAREST, Romania - The Netherlands Under-18 Women's National Team, with Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman on its staff, has earned a quarterfinal berth at the 2012 FIBA U18 European Championship.
The Dutch went 4-2 through the first two rounds of play in the 16-team tournament featuring the top young basketball talent in Europe. After winning its first round group with a perfect 3-0 record, the team lost to Slovenia (57-51) before defeating Serbia (68-66) on Tuesday and losing to Italy (64-56) on Wednesday.
Hillsman's team will face Turkey in its quarterfinal game on Friday at 1:15 p.m. ET. The winner will advance to face the winner of France vs. Croatia in the semifinals on Saturday at 1:15 p.m. ET, while the loser will France-Croatia loser on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET. The championship game is slated for Sunday at 12:45 p.m. ET.
The Dutch are looking to improve on a fifth-place finish at the 2011 European Championship when Hillsman was also on the coaching staff.
