Bernier Continues to Impress in MLS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse University standout and current Montreal Impact midfielder Patrice Bernier continues to make impressive strides in Major League Soccer (MLS) competition. Bernier has started in four consecutive games for the Impact and has recorded ten points in the past nine games.
An MLS Player of the Week recipient in June, Bernier recently led Montreal to a 3-1 victory versus San Jose. The Brossard, Quebec native scored a goal and added an assist in the match.
At Syracuse, Bernier was a member of the NSCAA All-Region First Team in 1999 and was a BIG EAST All-Rookie Team choice in 1998. He scored 16 points in 1998 and tallied 18 in 1999 for a total of 34 career points. Bernier started all 38 games he played at Syracuse and ranks eighth all-time in points per game (0.89).
Montreal is 9-3-2 in 14 matches. The Impact continues its season Saturday, Aug. 25 against D.C. United.
