
Muller and Pagano Named Orange Scholar-Athletes

SYRACUSE, N.Y – Senior Lars Muller (Brandenburg, Germany) of the men's soccer team and senior Sarah Pagano (Ringwood, N.J) of the women's cross country team are the Syracuse University Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week for Sept. 17, 2012.
Muller joined the SU soccer team in 2011, after attending Otto Von Guericke University in Germany for two years. The forward played in twelve games last season, recording seven starts. He was also a member of the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters.
He has seen action in all eight games in 2012, recording five starts, totaling three goals and one assist. Muller is majoring in economics in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Pagano is a member of both the Syracuse indoor and outdoor track teams as well as the cross country squad. She is the current school record holder in the indoor distance medley relay (11:52.13). Last season, Pagano earned All-Region honors at the cross country NCAA Northeast Regionals. She was also selected as an USTFCCCA All-American.
This season, Pagano registered the top SU performance, finishing seventh overall at the 2012 Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational, with a time of 21:38.70 in the 5950 meter run. She is majoring in biochemistry and nutrition in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Muller and the rest of the Orange soccer team (6-2) will take on Seton Hall Saturday, Sept. 22 in the SU Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. Pagano and the cross country team will compete in the Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster on Friday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. in Toledo, Ohio.
