College Soccer News National Team of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After helping the Orange stymie a potent Clemson attack in SU's 1-0 shutout victory of the 19th-ranked Tigers on Friday, Nov. 1, Skylar Thomas earned a spot on the College Soccer News National Team of the Week Tuesday.

Thomas helped the Orange record its eighth shutout of the season. SU's eight clean sheets are tied for the ACC lead. Thomas anchors a backline that, along with goalkeeper Alex Bono, has allowed the third-fewest goals (15) in the conference this season. In addition, the Orange defense has limited 10 of its 17 opponents to 10 shots or less.

Thomas, Bono and the Orange travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on No. 13 Wake Forest Friday, Nov. 8. in the regular-season finale for both teams. SU is still in the hunt for one of the eighth berths in the ACC Championship, which gets underway next week.
