SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Over the coming weeks, Syracuse field hockey head coach Ange Bradley is announcing the program's 2013 signing class. Be sure to check back to SUAthletics.com as the Orange, fresh off its 2012 Final Four run, unveils its incoming class one-by-one.
Â
"I am happy to welcome the Class of 2017 to our great university and hockey family here at Syracuse," Bradley said. "They are the first generation of Syracuse Hockey in The ACC. This presents a tremendous opportunity as well as a responsibility to build upon our past. I am excited to see how this group prepares, unites and grows to compete in the best conference in the nation. I look forward to their arrival in August and I am very thrilled to have the opportunity to develop this talented group of student athletes and teach them the Syracuse way."

In today's installment, Bradley announces the signing of midfielder Lindsey Nerbonne from Bow, N.H.
Â
Nerbonne is a three-time New Hampshire All-State First Team honoree and MVP who earned Division II Player of the Year as well as Concord Monitor Player of the Year honors this past year. A two-year captain as a junior and a senior, Nerbonne led the Falcons to a New Hampshire State Championship in 2011.
Â
"I chose Syracuse because I love all the aspects about it," Nerbonne said. "The academics are very good at Syracuse and they offer a wide variety of subjects. I also love the campus and the athletic spirit of all of the students. The field hockey program's high success and style also really attracted me to the university."
Â
Nerbonne scored 20 goals in her senior season at Bow High School. She finished her career at Bow scoring a total of 53 goals, a feat that later awarded her a Falcon Leadership Award. A three-sport athlete, she was also recognized twice as an All-State basketball player.
Â
In addition, Nerbonne was a member of the 2011 Champion Seacoast United club field hockey team and was selected to be a member of the New Hampshire versus Vermont All-Star Team for field hockey.
Â
Lindsey brings so many of the intangible skill-sets to the group," Bradley said. "Her heart, competitive spirit and desire to win and compete are outstanding. She has very quick hands and is a skillful player. I would expect her to give us solid minutes in the midfield or back line next year. She will also be groomed to develop into a penalty corner hitter. She will bring the tenacity, competitiveness and intensity to our training sessions vacated by graduating senior Iona Holloway."
Â
"Lindsey is so unselfish with the ball," Bow head coach Lyndsey Cook said. "She's always trying to keep the team encouraged, she's humble, and she never puts anyone down."
Â
Nerbonne's older sister, Katelyn, played field hockey at Colgate from 2006-09, earning All-Patriot League honors as a junior and senior.
