SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Over the coming weeks, Syracuse field hockey head coach Ange Bradley will announce the program's 2013 signing class. Be sure to check back to SUAthletics.com as the Orange, fresh off its 2012 Final Four run, unveils its incoming class one-by-one.
Â
"I am happy to welcome the Class of 2017 to our great university and hockey family here at Syracuse," Bradley said. "They are the first generation of Syracuse Hockey in The ACC. This presents a tremendous opportunity as well as a responsibility to build upon our past. I am excited to see how this group prepares, unites and grows to compete in the best conference in the nation. I look forward to their arrival in August and I am very thrilled to have the opportunity to develop this talented group of student athletes and teach them the Syracuse way."

Bupp finished her senior season at Hempfield High School with seven goals and five assists as captain of the squad. Overall, she recorded a total of 18 career goals, 18 career assists and two career defensive saves. Bupp recorded the biggest goal of her career in 2011, netting the game-winner in the Pennsylvania State Championship. She led the Black Knights, the same high school as SU rising-junior Lauren Brooks, to a 20-7 record in 2012.
Â
"I thought it was a good fit both academically and athletically," Bupp said. "Syracuse offers my major in speech pathology, has a big city campus, and I strongly believe the coaching staff will push me to be the best athlete I can be. I really enjoyed how welcoming the payers were and I couldn't have asked for better future teammates."
Â
Bupp's athleticism at midfield led her to be named First Team All-State and All-Lancaster-Lebanon Second Team in 2012. As a member of the O.D. Clan Club Team, Bupp helped her team to a State Championship in 2011.
Â
"Megan is a very skillful player," Bradley said. "She has very good 3D skills and is fast. Her competitive desire is very strong and can go unnoticed as she has a quiet confidence, similar to her former high school teammate, Lauren Brooks. In key moments of a game Megan gets it done. She will be a versatile player for us possessing the ability to play all three lines. I look forward to seeing her compete with us this fall."
Â
"Megan has been a very versatile player for us the last four years," Hempfield coach Julianne Bojanic-Collier said. ""Her understanding of the game has allowed her to play any role on the field and create success for herself and her teammates as well. Megan has a tremendous amount of talent and I look forward to seeing how she develops in the future."
"I've had the pleasure of coaching Megan for the past two seasons on my indoor team. I absolutely love what Megan brings to the team," OD Clan head coach Jessica Rose Shellenberger said. "She has a confidence about her that is contagious. There's no quit in her. She makes things happen, whether it's creating turnovers, threading passes or scoring goals. She's a huge asset to our team. She also has a great personality and can keep things light for the group. A great teammate and leader, I wish her the best of luck at Syracuse."
