Syracuse junior Brittany Anghel has been named one of the nation's top returning goalkeepers in the nation for the 2013 season by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Anghel was one of 10 student-athletes highlighted by the website.
Anghel earned the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year award and was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team this season. She anchored the Syracuse defense in 2012, posting a 1.02 goals-against average and a .784 save percentage. Anghel recorded five shutouts, increasing her career total to 18. That total ranks second on Syracuse's career leader list behind Eliza Bennett-Hattan's 20 from 2006-09. Anghel had 69 saves in 2012. She ranks third on SU's all-time saves list with 225.
