SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's soccer team looks to bounce back from two losses last weekend -- at then No. 2 Virginia and at Virginia Tech -- this Thursday in South Bend, Ind., when the team takes on No. 7 Notre Dame at 7 p.m.

Syracuse is currently on a three-game losing streak and is now 4-4 on the season and 0-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Notre Dame enters Thursday's game at 6-1 overall (2-0 ACC) and 4-1 at home, with their sole loss against UCLA on Sept. 1.

THE SERIES
The Orange has never won a game against the Fighting Irish (0-9), but look to turn things around Thursday night. They last met in the 2012 BIG EAST Quarterfinals, where Syracuse lost a hard fought game 1-0 after Notre Dame scored late in the second half.

ORANGE AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
Last weekend, the Orange faced its highest ranked opponent since 2010 when they faced Virginia, who was ranked No. 2 but has since climbed to the No. 1 spot. Syracuse's second opponent last weekend, Virginia Tech, was 22nd in the Soccer America polls and entered the NSCAA Coaches poll at No. 23 on Tuesday.

Thursday's game against Notre Dame will be the fourth time Syracuse has faced a ranked opponent this season. Earlier this season Syracuse also faced West Virginia, which was receiving votes in the coaches' poll and was ranked No. 19 at the time in the Soccer America poll.

Syracuse will host its first ACC home game when they welcome No. 18 Duke to town on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 12 p.m.
