SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse men's soccer team (6-2-0, 1-2-0 ACC) looks to extend its winning streak to four games when it returns to ACC action against Virginia (3-3-1, 0-2-1 ACC) on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange and Cavaliers kick off at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Syracuse recorded its ninth straight victory against a non-conference opponent by defeating Massachusetts, 3-0, on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at the SU Soccer Stadium. Nick Perea tallied the match's initial goal when his header off of a Jordan Murrell corner kick found the back of the net. Stefanos Stamoulacatos and Juuso Pasanen also had goals in the match.
Goalkeeper Alex Bono made two saves en route to his 14th career shutout, tied with Charlie Wilke for the fifth-most clean sheets in team history.
#ORANGENATION
SU has ranked in the top 50 nationally in home attendance in six of the last seven years, averaging almost 900 fans per game during that span. Syracuse achieved its highest attendance ranking in school history (No. 20) in 2012. At least 1,000 fans attended seven of the team's eight home matches last year.

SU's 2013 home opener against Hartwick attracted a crowd of 1,633, the third-largest crowd in SU Soccer Stadium history. So far this season, Syracuse (1,056) is one of 10 ACC programs averaging more than 1,000 fans per home game.

SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
Virginia has a 3-3-1 record this season, including a 0-2-1 record in ACC play. UVa has won two out of its last three matchups. Two of the Cavaliers' losses were to ranked opponents (No. 10 Louisville and No. 15 Wake Forest).

Eric Bird leads UVa with eight points and three goals, while Jordan Allen has posted a team-high three assists. Virginia goalie Jeff Gal has 14 saves and has a 1.38 goals-against average.

George Gelnovatch is in his 18th season at the helm in Charlottesville. A former Cavalier soccer All-American and assistant coach, Gelnovatch has led UVa to the 2009 NCAA Championship, three NCAA College Cup appearances, four ACC Tournament titles, two regular-season conference crowns and 17 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
