Bono, Ekblom Garner Team of the Week Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior goalkeeper Alex Bono and sophomore striker Emil Ekblom earned national weekly honors following Syracuse's 1-0 victory at Virginia Tech on Oct. 4. Bono was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Men's Team of the Week today and Ekblom garnered a spot on College Soccer News' National Team of the Week yesterday.

Bono recorded six saves against the Hokies, including one in overtime, to post his ACC-leading ninth shutout of the season. In the process, he extended his streak of consecutive scoreless minutes to 482:31, a new school record. Bono leads the nation in goals-against average (0.10) and save percentage (.976).

Ekblom tallied the golden goal in the 107th minute of the contest. He is tied for the ACC lead with six goals on the season, including five game-winners.

Syracuse is back on the pitch tonight for a 7 p.m. match against Albany at the SU Soccer Stadium. Admission is free.
