Men's Soccer Achieves Highest Ranking in School History

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse men's soccer team (9-1-0) is No. 4 in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, released on Tuesday, Oct. 7. It's the highest ranking in school history, eclipsing the No. 6 ranking achieved by the Orange during the 1984 season.

Syracuse defeated Virginia Tech on the road Saturday to climb five spots after checking in at No. 9 last week. In addition, the Orange overtook Notre Dame atop this week's NSCAA South Region rankings.

Washington is the new No. 1 in the national poll. The Huskies are followed by UCLA, Penn State, Syracuse and Georgetown in the top five.

The latest Soccer America Top 25 was also released today. Syracuse is 10th in that poll.

The Orange is back in action tonight against Albany. The Orange and Great Danes square off at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. Admission is free.
