GREENSBORO, N.C. – Juniors Lindsay McCabe and Nicolette Serratore were selected to represent Syracuse on the 2013 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team, announced by the conference on Thursday, Feb. 20.
Each of the Atlantic Coast Conference's 15 teams had at least one student-athlete earn a spot on the team. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average during the Fall 2013 semester and have maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 throughout her academic career.
McCabe, a Capital One Academic All-District selection, was also on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team twice before the switch to the ACC. She has been included on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and the Dean's List in all of her semesters at SU. Last season, McCabe moved into the top-10 of every career blocking category at Syracuse thanks to 159 total blocks and 138 block assists, good for eighth and second in a single season, respectively. Her 1.34 blocks per set ranked second in the ACC, 25th nationally and was the seventh highest in a season at SU.
Serratore, a five-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, is on her second all-academic team after making her way on to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in 2012. She was one of the squad's top attackers last year, finishing the campaign with career highs in nearly every category. Serratore was second on the club with 3.08 kills and 2.48 digs per set while posting a team-best nine double-doubles.
