A pair of Syracuse freshmen are competing for national teams this spring. Courtney Brosnan and Natasha Tcheki-Jamgotchian enrolled in school in January and will make their Syracuse debuts on the soccer pitch next fall.
Brosnan is back in with the U19 Ireland women's national team, this time in Holland. The squad is in the elite qualifying phase and should it go through will be one of eight teams at the UEFA European U19 Championships in Norway this July. The team will play top seed Austria on April 5, host Holland on April 7, and Turkey on April 10. Brosnan started all three matches in the La Manga tournament in Spain this past March where the Irish had solid results with draws against England and Denmark and a win against Sweden.

Tcheki-Jamgotchian is in Portland, Oregon with the U20 Canada women's national team. She is one of 20 players called into the April 1-11 camp by head coach Andrew Olivieri that hope to be in the lineup for the U20 World Cup, which starts in Toronto when hosts Canada take on Ghana on August 5.
