
Orange to Face Irish in ACC Championship Quarterfinals

Syracuse is the No. 2 seed in the ACC Championship, which begins Thursday.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 1/2 Syracuse will face No. 9/8 Notre Dame for the second time in six days when the teams meet in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women's Lacrosse Championship quarterfinals on Thursday, April 24. The Orange earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament, while the Fighting Irish are the No. 7 seed.
Syracuse and Notre Dame will meet at 3 p.m. in the third quarterfinal of the day at Alumni Stadium on the campus of Boston College. The Orange compiled a 6-1 record in ACC play to earn a share of the regular-season title. Maryland also finished with a 6-1 mark in league play and earned the tournament's No. 1 seed because it defeated Syracuse on March 10, which is the Orange's only loss this season.
Thursday's quarterfinal matchup is a rematch of Saturday's contest in South Bend. Syracuse scored the first eight goals of the game and went on to defeat Notre Dame, 18-10. The victory extended the Orange's winning streak to nine games.
The ACC Championship semifinals are scheduled for Friday, April 25 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The title game will be played on Sunday, April 27 at 1 p.m.
