Jordan Page and Lauren Brooks scored in the 60th and 66th minute respectively to erase a 1-0 Great Danes lead and put the Orange on top to earn the 2-1 come from behind victory.
"I think that ultimately we stepped it up a notch and started going after the 50-50 balls in the second half," said head coach Ange Bradley. "We were a little apprehensive coming out, it's our first game on Coyne, first home game, it's been a long time since we've done this, so I think it the excitement and the overzealousness in the first half. We have a lot of young kids in our lineup, but in the end our maturity stepped it up and were able to get results for us."
After Albany's Liza Morgan got the scoring started in the 48th minute, Page pulled the Orange to even when she finished off a pass from Lieke Visser from right in front of the cage.
Brooks then put the Orange on top for good six minutes later, when she took a pass from Visser and fired it top-shelf for goal from just inside of the circle.
The two goals were the first Albany has allowed in four games this season.
The Orange won the shots battle 10-9, with the help of a 6-shot second half while allowing just three.
Jess Jecko got the start in cage for 'Cuse and made a season-high seven saves in the contest.
Syracuse will continue its home stand Sunday at 1 p.m. when the Orange host Ball State.
