Orange Goes on the Road to Face Tar Heels

Syracuse plays its second game in three days when it travel to Chapel Hill for Monday's contest.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Syracuse will play three of its next four contests on the road, starting Monday, Jan. 26 at No. 15/15 North Carolina. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
The game will be televised on ESPN and ESPN3. Fans can listen to the action on the Syracuse IMG Radio Network and its flagship TK99 (99.5 FM). Live audio will be available on CuseTV on Cuse.com. Subscriptions to CuseTV are available at daily, monthly and yearly rates.

What to Watch For – Syracuse (14-6, 5-2)
1. Overall, Syracuse is 2-3 on the road this season, which includes a 2-1 mark in ACC play. The Orange had its two-game road winning streak snapped in a 66-53 loss at Clemson on January 17.
2. Sophomore Tyler Roberson recorded his third double-double of the season against Miami. He scored 10 points and led the Orange with 14 rebounds, 11 of which came on the defensive end. Roberson also dished out a career-high four assists. He ranks 13th in the ACC in rebounding, averaging 7.4 per game.
3. Monday's game will feature two teams that make it tough on its opponents from behind the three-point line. North Carolina leads the ACC in three-point shooting defense (.277), while Syracuse is second (.293).
What to Watch For – North Carolina (16-4, 6-1)
1. The Tar Heels extended their winning streak to five games with a 78-74 victory against Florida State on Saturday. North Carolina is now 16-4 overall this season and is tied for second in the ACC standings with a 6-1 league record.
2. Marcus Paige is the team's leading scorer, averaging 13.8 points per game. The Tar Heels have three other players averaging double figures on the season, including Kennedy Meeks (12.8 ppg.), Brice Johnson (12.0 ppg.), and Justin Jackson (10.3 ppg.). J.P. Tokoto leads the team in assists and steals, with 81 and 26 respectively, while Meeks ranks seventh in the ACC in rebounding, averaging 8.3 per contest.
3. Roy Williams enters his 12th season as the head coach at North Carolina. Williams has led his teams to seven Final Four appearances including two national championship victories in 2005 and 2009.
THE SERIES
Syracuse and North Carolina have split the previous eight meetings between the two schools. The Orange evened the series last season when it defeated the Tar Heels, 57-45, in the Carrier Dome.

After playing two games in three days, the Orange will have seven days off before hosting Virginia Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
