Orange Cracks Top 10 in Latest RPI

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Syracuse has moved up to the No. 10 spot in the NCAA's Men's Soccer RPI released on Monday, Oct. 26. Following a conference win on Friday, the Orange moved up one spot to give the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) five teams in the top 10. The conference currently has seven teams in the top 25.
Syracuse defeated NC State, 2-1, on Friday to pass Boston College in the Atlantic Division standings, and improve its record to 10-4-2. The team is 3-3-1 in conference play and holds sole ownership of third place in the division. Ahead of Syracuse are Wake Forest, with 17 points, and Clemson, with 16 points. The two teams also have the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the RPI, respectively.
In addition, North Carolina claims the No. 3 spot, while Notre Dame rounds out the top 5. The Orange lost to North Carolina, 2-1, on Oct. 10 in Chapel Hill.
Syracuse lands just outside the top 10 in several polls this week. College Soccer News puts the Orange at No. 16, while TopDrawerSoccer has the team at No. 18.
Syracuse heads to Chestnut Hill, Mass. for its last regular-season game against Boston College on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. The Eagles hold the No. 14 spot in this week's RPI.
