The first 400 Syracuse students will be admitted to Sunday's match free of charge!
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange head men's soccer coach Ian McIntyre and the Department of Athletics are again offering free admission to Syracuse students for the Sunday's NCAA Tournament third round match against Seattle. Instead of paying $5 for a ticket, the first 400 Syracuse University students in attendance will receive free admission, courtesy of McIntyre and the Syracuse Athletics Department. The ticket offer must be claimed by 12:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Â
"It's a small gesture to say thank you to our student body for supporting us all season," McIntyre said. "We have a great soccer community and their passion has been critical to creating one of the most exciting atmospheres in the country for college soccer."
Â
Students wishing to take advantage of McIntyre's offer should report to the student ticket booth outside the SU Soccer Stadium and present a valid Syracuse University ID card.
Â
Gates open at 12 p.m. and all fans are encouraged to arrive early for the 1 p.m. kickoff. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 18 and under. Â Â Â Â Â
Â
As the No. 6 seed, Syracuse earned a bye in the tournament's first round and defeated Dartmouth, 2-1, in the second round. Sunday's match marks the first time the Orange has hosted an NCAA Tournament third-round match.
Â
The Orange is averaging nearly 1,300 fans per home game and drawn more than 1,000 fans seven times, including three crowds of more than 2,000.
Â
"There's nothing better than playing at home," said Syracuse junior and ACC Tournament MVP Ben Polk prior to the Orange's match against Dartmouth. "It's like having a 12th man out there. Orange nation in incredible. We really, really, appreciate their support."
