Buescher Named to College Cup All-Tournament Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Syracuse sophomore Julian Buescher was selected to the 2015 College Cup All-Tournament Team. He was one of 11 players to earn the honor for his performance against Clemson in the national semifinals.

Buescher and the Orange made their first appearance in the College Cup last weekend when they faced No. 2 seed Clemson. Buescher recorded three shots in the match. He also converted his penalty kick in the shootout, which Clemson eventually won, 4-1, to advance to the national championship game on Sunday.

This season, Buescher recorded career highs in every statistical category with 27 points on eight goals and 11 assists. He led the team in assists and ranked second in goals and points. Buescher was a semifinalist for the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Award, which is presented to the collegiate player of the year. He was also voted to the All-ACC First Team and the ACC All-Tournament Team.
