
McCabe Earns Academic All-Conference Nod

Lindsay McCabe earns Academic All-Conference honor for her achievement on and off the court
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse volleyball's Lindsay McCabe, a graduate student studying Teaching and Curriculum after earning her bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Mathematics, was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team on Wednesday afternoon. McCabe was one of 31 players named to the team and is a two-time honoree.
During her fifth and final season with the Orange, McCabe led the team in all blocking categories on her way to the top of the program's record books. McCabe finished the year with 124 block assists, totaling 508 for her career, the most in team history. McCabe also tallied 140 total blocks in the past season, giving her 590 in her five-year career and placing her in second place for career blocks, 64 behind Sarah Morton.
McCabe's 1.36 blocks per set during her fifth season in orange was the highest of her career, raising her cumulative total to 1.23 blocks per set. She also set personal single-season highs in assists and service aces with 13 and 10 respectively.
Recognition on the conference's academic team is based on grade point averages for both the previous semester and the athlete's academic career. In order to be eligible, both grade point averages must be at a 3.00 or above.
