Syracuse earns the No. 8 seed in the Greensboro Region
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's basketball team is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season, a program-first. Eighth-seeded Syracuse (21-9) earned an at-large bid and will take on No. 9 seed Nebraska (21-10) on Friday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Columbia, S.C. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
The winner of Friday's game will play the winner of No. 1 seed South Carolina (30-2) and No. 16 seed Savannah State (21-10) on Sunday, March 22.
It will be the first-ever meeting between the Orange and Cornhuskers.
The Orange played South Carolina earlier this season, falling 67-63 in the Junkanoo Jam, with junior guard Brianna Butler netting 18 points in that contest. A matchup with Savannah State would also be a first for 'Cuse.
Syracuse will be making its seventh appearance in the NCAA Tournament and fourth under head coach Quentin Hillsman. Last season, the Orange recorded its first victory in NCAA Tournament in program history, defeating Chattanooga in the first round.

Ticket sales will be conducted online at Cuse.com, at the Carrier Dome Box Office, or by phone at 888-DOMETIX until the allotment is exhausted.
Three Years In-A-Row
Syracuse continues to make history under head coach Quentin Hillsman, making its third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2014-15. The Orange enters the NCAA Tournament with a 21-9 overall record and finished its second season in the Atlantic Coast Conference with an 11-5 mark. Syracuse has won at least 20 games in six straight seasons.

Syracuse was ranked as one of the top-25 programs in the country in each of the first 16 ranking releases. Following an 8-1 start to the year, the club was ranked No. 19 in the AP Poll, its highest appearance in the media rankings. Syracuse was one spot shy of matching its highest appearance in either major national poll. The Orange was ranked No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll during the 2012-13 season.
Sophomore guard Alexis Peterson earned All-ACC Second Team honors from the Blue Ribbon Panel and coaches, becoming the second player in program history to do so. Peterson currently ranks eighth in the ACC in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game. The sophomore guard is joined by the ACC's leader in 3-point field goals made, junior guard Brianna Butler, and one of the conference's top post players in sophomore center Briana Day.
