Manley and US National Team to Face Ireland

Looking for her second cap with the senior national team
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Rising senior midfielder Alyssa Manley of the Syracuse University field hockey team will suit up for the United States senior national team as the squad takes on Ireland in a three-game series beginning on Monday night at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa.

The United States and Ireland will face off on the field hockey pitch three times beginning on Monday night. The two teams will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well. All games will start at 6:30 p.m. One can watch the series live here.

Manley will be looking for her second international appearance with United States senior national team against Ireland. In February, she earned her first cap against Argentina, helping the squad to a 1-1 tie against the No. 2 team in the world.

The Lititz, Pa. native is coming off a spectacular junior season at Syracuse, where she earned All-America accolades for the second time in her collegiate career. In the process, she became the ninth player in program history to earn multiple All-America honors.

Former Syracuse player Gillian Pinder will be suiting up for the Ireland senior national team, as well. Pinder helped the Orange to its second appearance in the national semifinals in 2012. She recorded 28 points on 10 goals and eight assists en route to Longstreth/NFHCA All-Mideast Region First Team accolades.
