Syracuse up one spot this week
Following a 4-2 comeback win over North Carolina, the Syracuse field hockey team moved up to No. 2 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll.
The No. 2 ranking for the Orange (5-0, 1-0 ACC) is its highest position since the final poll of the 2013 season when the team was also ranked second.
UConn still maintains the top-spot in the poll with 971 points and 37 first-place votes, but Syracuse closed the gap with 937 points and 12 first-place votes. North Carolina ranks third (847 points), Virginia (788 points, 1 first-place vote) and Albany (737 points) rounds out the top-five.
All-seven ACC teams are now ranked in the top-11 in this week's poll.

Syracuse will play No. 11 Boston College on Saturday at 1 p.m. before taking on Yale the following day at 2 p.m. Syracuse's next home contest is Friday, Sept. 25 vs. No. 4 Virginia at 4 p.m.
