The No. 2 Syracuse field hockey team hits the road for a pair of games this weekend, beginning with No. 11 Boston College on Saturday and a contest at Yale on Sunday.

5-0 Start
- Syracuse is one-of-five teams nationally that's off to a perfect start through the first-three weeks.
- In addition to the Orange, ACC foe #4 Virginia, #1 UConn, #14 Delaware and Lock Haven are also perfect on the year.
- Syracuse has started the year 5-0 or better in each of the last-four seasons. A win Saturday would tie the 6-0 start that the team had in both 2013 and 2014, and two wins this weekend would make it the best start since 2012 when the team started 12-0.

National Ranks
- Syracuse is in the top-10 of five different categories as a team.
- 'Cuse ranks ninth in assists per game (3.00), fourth in goals against average (0.77), eighth in save percentage (.826), fourth in scoring margin (2.70), eighth in shutouts per game (0.40).
- Individually, Jess Jecko ranks first in win percentage (1.000), fourth in goals against average (0.77), and ninth in shot percentage (.818).
- Due to a balanced offensive start to the season, no Syracuse offensive player ranks in the top-25 of any statistical category, despite every team scoring rank sitting in the top-15.

'Cuse vs. BC
- SU is 20-8 all-time against Boston College in a series that dates back to 1990, being played annually except a three-year stretch from 2005-07.
- Most recently, the Orange avenged a 3-2 overtime regular-season loss to the Eagles with a 5-2 win in the ACC Tournament against Boston College in 2014.
- Senior forward Emma Russell has led the way for 'Cuse against Boston College. The senior captain has 28-career points on 10 goals and four assists vs. BC, including a nine-point effort in the ACC Tournament vs. the Eagles last season.
- Sophomore back Annalena Ulbrich is the only other member of the Orange to have a goal against BC, while senior Alyssa Manley has a pair of assists and sophomore Laura Hurff also has a helper against the Eagles.
- Saturday's meeting between Syracuse and Boston College will be the earliest meeting between the two teams in series history and just the ninth meeting before Oct. 1 between the two programs.
- The Orange has scored two or more goals in each of the last eight games against Boston College, and three or more goals in seven of the last eight.

'Cuse vs. Yale
- SU is 3-0 all-time against Yale, with Sunday's contest serving as the team's first matchup since 2012.
- Most recently, the Orange defeated Yale 5-0, with Emma Russell netting a goal in the game, and Alyssa Manley recording an assist as freshmen against the Bulldogs.
- Sunday will be the second time in program history that the Orange will travel to New Haven, Conn. The only prior meeting Syracuse had at Yale was a 5-2 win on Oct. 14, 2007.
