Polk Named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week

Ben Polk led Syracuse to its first ACC win with seven points against Pitt.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Ben Polk's performance in the Syracuse men's soccer team's win against Pittsburgh is gaining national attention. Polk has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week after recording eight points in two matches the week of Sept. 21-27.
Polk registered an assist on Syracuse's final goal in a 3-1 victory against Binghamton. He then produced one of the highest-scoring performances in school history in the Orange's 5-0 win against Pittsburgh. Polk assisted on Syracuse's first goal and then scored on his next three shots to lead the Orange to its first ACC victory.
Polk finished one goal shy of the single-game school record and became the 33rd player in program history to post a hat trick. In addition, his seven points tie him for sixth place on Syracuse's single-game record list. Polk now leads Syracuse in scoring with 10 points.
The Orange goes for its third consecutive victory when it travels to Hamilton, N.Y. to face Colgate on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.
