SYRACUSE, N.Y. – For the second straight game, the No. 24 Syracuse University women's basketball team will play a nationally-ranked opponent when it hosts No. 17/17 Louisville on Monday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

In its last contest, Syracuse suffered a 90-62 loss at No. 3/3 Notre Dame on Jan. 21. Senior guard Brianna Butler and junior guard Alexis Peterson each scored 12 points to lead the Orange in its sixth conference game of the 2015-16 season.

Louisville enters Monday night's game with a 14-5 overall record and perfect 6-0 mark in conference competition. The Cardinals were ranked No. 17 in the latest releases of the two major national polls. In its last contest, Louisville recorded a 92-90 victory at NC State on Jan. 17. Sophomore forward Mariya Moore had 31 points in the win.

Guess Who's Back
Redshirt junior guard Brittney Sykes is back after missing most of the 2014-15 season due to injury. Sykes played in three contests last season before suffering a torn ACL against Notre Dame on Jan. 4. In three games played, she averaged 2.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

In the team's final game of the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas, Sykes put on a show against in-state foe Fordham on Nov. 28. The redshirt junior guard scored a season-high 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field. Her .889 field goal percentage was a career-best.

Sykes put together a complete performance against Jacksonville on Dec. 21 in the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome. She recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds, notching the first Syracuse double-double of the 2015-16 season. It marked her fifth double-double of her collegiate career.

Sykes is approaching a milestone in 2015-16. She is looking to become the 25th player in program history to score 1,000 points in her collegiate career. She is currently seven points shy of the 1,000-point mark.

Syracuse lost its second Atlantic Coast Conference contest of the 2015-16 season, losing at No. 3/3 Notre Dame, 90-62, on Thursday night at Purcell Pavilion.

Notre Dame came out hot in the first half and took a commanding 28-point advantage at the break against Syracuse. The Fighting Irish was 23-for-34 from the field in the opening 20 minutes, making an astonishing 67 percent of its field goal attempts.

The Orange attempted to mount a comeback to start the second half. Syracuse came out on a 15-5 run to make it an 18-point game, before Notre Dame took a timeout with 4:47 remaining in the frame. That was the closest it got, as the Irish recorded a 28-point win. SU kept pace with its host in the final 20 minutes, tying its opponent, 33-33, in the final two quarters played, but could not overcome the first-half deficit.
