'Cuse vs. Virginia
- The last conference matchup of the regular season, Syracuse will travel to Charlottesville to take on Virginia on Saturday.
- The Orange has won4 two straight against the Cavaliers. The two teams have played six games all time, winning three apiece.
- Syracuse took both matchups with UVA last season, winning the regular season tilt 3-1, and defeating the Cavaliers 3-2 in the ACC Semifinals.
- In the first matchup with Virginia last year, Serra Degnan got the Orange started with a goal just 10:19 into the game. After trading goals just before the half, Liz Sack extended the Orange lead back to two, clinching the 3-1 victory with 18:01 left to play.
- The Orange scored first again in the ACC Tournament game against Virginia, pushing out to a 2-0 lead before the half. However, within the first 23 minutes of the second half the Cavliers found the back of the net twice to tie the game up. The tie would stand through regulation, but a goal from Emma Russell assisted by Lies Lagerweij would give the Orange the victory just 6:23 into the overtime period.
- A win in Saturday's game would guarantee the Orange at least a share of the ACC regular season title, with every other school still having to play one more conference contest.
Staying Hot
- The Orange take on the Cavaliers having won five in a row, including two wins over Top-10Â ACC opponents, No. 7 Louisville and No. 2 Duke.
- During the five-game streak, Syracuse has outscored its opponents 20-5. The 20 goals are the 5th most in the country since September 25, trailing UConn (30), Pacific (26), James Madison
(24) and Albany (21).
-  In the two wins last weekend, Syracuse outscored No. 2 Duke and Cornell by a combined score of 10-1. Roos Weers (4 g) and Emma Lamison (2 g, 4 a) led the way with eight points
apiece.
Steep Competition
- Syracuse's 2016 schedule features nine other teams sporting a Top 20 ranking in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll.
- Last year, the Orange played in 16 matches against ranked opponents, recording a perfect 10-0 record in such matches during the regular season, and a 15-1 record overall.
- The Orange has been in the top-five of 19-straight polls and top-20 of 95-straight polls.
Lamison and Weers Collect Awards
- Emma Lamison and Roos Weers were honored by the ACC and NFHCA for their performances last weekend.
- Lamison scored a career-high six points against Duke (two goals, two assists), adding another two assists on Sunday and earned Offensive Player of the Week from both organizations in the win.
- Weers scored two goals in each game and shined in the backfield to garner Defensive Player of the Week honors from both.
Syracuse and UVA will get things started at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
