Eight Named to NFHCA All-Academic Squad

Eight members of the 2015 NCAA Field Hockey Champions were honored by the NFHCA as part of the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, a day after Syracuse was honored with the NFHCA team academic award.
Freshmen Jennifer Bleakney, Jamie Martin, Nikki Neidhart, sophomores Laura Hurff and Allie Mannheimer, juniors Serra Degnan and Emma Lamson and graduate student Alma Fenne were among those honored.
In order to receive recognition for this honor, a student-athlete must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.
The Orange claimed the program's first NCAA Championship this season after rolling to a 21-1 record overall. 'Cuse swept the four major postseason awards, becoming the first team since 1994 to accomplish the feat and placed a league-high six student-athletes on the All-ACC Teams. Head coach Ange Bradley was selected as the NFHCA National Coach of the Year, while senior Alyssa Manley became the first Honda Award recipient in school history.
