
'Cuse Travels To Pittsburgh & Louisville

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 32 ranked Syracuse women's tennis team will travel to face off against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents this weekend when they take on Pittsburgh on Friday and Louisville on Sunday. The Orange will matchup with the Panthers on Friday at 1 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pa. and then with the Cardinals on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Louisville, Ky.
Syracuse (10-6, 4-6 ACC) is coming off a successful weekend against ACC opponents after defeating No. 19 Wake Forest 4-3 before taking down No. 57 Florida State 6-1. Freshman Gabriela Knutson improved to 11-4 overall in singles matches this season by winning both of her matches, while classmate Maria Tritou also won in both matches to improve to 8-7 in singles on the season.

Junior Valeria Salazar and freshman Libi Mesh both went undefeated in singles as well. Salazar is now 7-8 overall while Mesh posts a record of 6-9. Doubles pair Gabriela Knutson and Valeria Salazar also took wins in both matches on the weekend to improve to 8-3 overall and 7-2 in ACC matches.

The unranked Panthers are 7-9 overall with an ACC record of 1-9. They are led in singles matches by junior Amber Washington, who has a record of 13-2 on the season.
Freshman Gabriela Rezende and junior Aubrey Ann Blakely are behind her and have been strong this season. Rezende has an overall singles record of 9-7, while Blakely posts a record of 8-7. In doubles, partners Rezende and Blakely lead the team with a total record of 7-5.
