Two Orange Road Matches to be Televised in 2016

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following the Orange on the road this season just got a bit easier as two of the Orange's road matches will be televised. ESPNU will broadcast the rematch of last year's national semifinal when Syracuse visits Clemson on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. In addition, the Orange's match at Louisville on Friday, Oct. 7 will be televised on RSN.

Syracuse is ranked No. 6 in the preseason NSCAA poll, while Clemson earned the No. 3 spot. The teams last met in Kansas City in the 2015 College Cup semifinals. Neither team could find the back of the net during regulation and 20 minutes of overtime, sending the match to penalty kicks. The Tigers won the penalty kick shootout to advance to the national championship match. Syracuse and Louisville will meet for the 12th time. The squads tied, 1-1, in last season's contest at the SU Soccer Stadium.

The Orange is coming off their best season in school history. Syracuse posted a record of 16-5-4 and claimed the program's first ACC Tournament title. The Orange earned the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and a first-round bye before defeating Dartmouth, Seattle and Boston College to advance to the College Cup for the first time in school history.

Syracuse begins preparations for the 2016 campaign when it takes on New Hampshire in an exhibition match on Saturday, August 13. Match time is set for 4 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium and is part of the annual Preferred Mutual 'Cuse Fan Fest, which takes place from 3-8 p.m.
