Bleakney and Hurff Tabbed to U.S. U21 Team

A pair of Orange field hockey players were tabbed to the USA U-21 team roster for 2017, continuing head coach Ange Bradley's trend of 'Cuse standouts going on to success at the international level.
Jen Bleakney, who had previously played on the U19 team, will join 'Cuse teammate Laura Hurff on the U21 roster this year. Hurff is in her second year on the squad after competing in the Junior World Cup and Junior Pan Am Games with for the U.S. this year.
Hurff, a rising senior, earned NFHCA Second Team All-America honors this season, her second-straight season on the All-America squad. She was also a First Team All-ACC selection.
Bleakney, a rising junior, played in all-19 games this season scoring six goals and contributing a pair of assists.
The U.S. Senior National Team also features a pair of former Orange players currently, headlined by Alyssa Manley, the youngest member of the 2016 Olympic Team and only collegiate player on the U.S. roster for the games. Former Syracuse goalkeeper Jess Jecko is the newest addition to the USWNT, joining the squad this fall.
