Hilpert Earns ACC Player of the Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse junior goalkeeper Hendrik Hilpert has been honored as the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against No. 1/2 Wake Forest. It is Hilpert's first career Player of the Week award.

Hilpert recorded a career-high nine saves in a 0-0 double-overtime draw against the Demon Deacons, the nation's second-highest scoring team in the nation. Two of his saves came in the second overtime, including one on Jon Baker's shot in the 109th minute, to preserve the shutout.

It was the 19th clean sheet of Hilpert's career, which gives him sole possession of fourth place on Syracuse's career leader list.

Hilpert and the Orange open ACC Tournament play on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at No. 4/6 Clemson at 7 p.m. Fans can watch the match on ACC Network Extra.
