2017 Paradise Jam Matchups Announced

Syracuse will play Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, and George Washington
SEATTLE – Matchups for the 2017 Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands have been released, Basketball Travelers, Inc. announced on Tuesday afternoon. The Syracuse women's basketball team will compete against Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, and George Washington for the Reef Division title at the Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands.
Syracuse will take on Wisconsin in its first contest of the tournament on Thursday, Nov. 23. It marks the first time that the Orange and Badgers will meet on the hardwood.
In its second game, Syracuse will play Vanderbilt on Friday, Nov. 24. The Orange and Commodores have met three times prior, with Vanderbilt winning each of the previous three matchups. In their last meeting, the Commodores recorded a 61-52 victory at home on Jan. 2, 2004.
Syracuse will close its stay against George Washington on Saturday, Nov. 25. It marks the third contest between the two programs, with the Colonials owning a 2-1 edge in the all-time series. Forward Julia Chandler and guard Gabby Cooper each knocked down two from distance in a 74-71 victory against George Washington at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla. on Nov. 25, 2016.
In 2013, the Orange won the Reef Division title, defeating Texas, Memphis, and No. 12/11 Texas A&M. Guard Brianna Butler '16 was named the tournament's most valuable players after averaging 23.3 points through three contests.
