Sykes recorded a career-high 20 points in her last outing
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Center Kayla Alexander '13 and guards Alexis Peterson and Brittney Sykes, the top three scorers in the history of the Syracuse women's basketball program, are all in action as the 2017 WNBA season is underway.
Here is the latest update of how the three former Orange are faring:
Kayla Alexander, San Antonio Stars
- Currently averaging 5.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 20 contests played
- Second on San Antonio in blocked shots and sixth in rebounding (fourth in offensive rebounding)
- Sunk a pair of free throws and tabbed a steal against Connecticut on July 16
- Recorded an offensive rebound and an assist in a win over Indiana on July 12
Alexis Peterson, Seattle Storm
- Tallying 1.7 points, 1.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.2 steals per contest in nine games
- Notched four rebounds and an assist against Atlanta on July 15
Brittney Sykes, Atlanta Dream
- Averaging 10.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.6 blocked shots per game in 19 contests played
- Ranks second among league rookies in scoring, blocked shots and rebounding
- Recorded a career-high 20 points with four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in a victory over San Antonio on July 18
- Tallied 16 points for her 10th double-digit game of the season in addition to notching two rebounds and a steal at Seattle on July 15
- Tied her career-high with four assists and scored 16 points while pulling in three rebounds at Phoenix on July 12
