
Syracuse Travels to St. Joseph’s for Regular Season Finale

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 14th-ranked Syracuse University field hockey team (8-6, 1-5 ACC) wraps up its 2018 regular season with a matchup against the 12th-ranked Saint Joseph's Hawks in Philadelphia, Pa., at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+.
Syracuse looks to bounce back after a 3-2 double overtime loss against then-ranked No. 10 Louisville last Friday. Senior back Roos Weers led the Orange offense against the Cardinals as she scored both of the team's two goals, bringing her team-high total to nine goals for the season. Goalkeeper Borg van der Velde had six saves bringing her season total to 63.
Saint Joseph's (14-2, 7-0 A-10) is riding a ten-game win streak and is undefeated at home this season. Goalkeeper Victoria Kammerinke has nine shutouts this season and holds a 0.94 goals average. On the offensive end, freshman forward Tonya Botherway leads the Hawks with 17 goals and nine assists on the year.
Saturday will be the second meeting in program history between the two. Last time they met, the Orange defeated the Hawks, 3-0, at home.
Following Saturday's regular season finale, the Orange head south to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the 2018 Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Championship. The seven-seed 'Cuse will play No. 2 seed Duke on Thursday, Nov. 1 live on ACC Network Extra at 1:30 p.m.
