SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse will face its toughest test this season when it hosts No. 1-ranked and undefeated Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 5. Match time at the SU Soccer Stadium is set for 7 p.m. Admissions and parking are free.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse is coming off a 3-1 road win at Akron on Monday, improving its record to 4-4-1. Senior Jonathan Hagman recorded his first career hat trick in the victory. Sophomore Tajon Buchanan assisted on two of Hagman's goals and junior Severin Soerlie assisted on the other. The Orange are looking to get their first ACC win of the year.

SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
Wake Forest is undefeated with a record of 11-0, including a 4-0 mark in conference play. In their last match, the Demon Deacons completed their fifth shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory against UNCG.

The Demon Deacons are the highest scoring offense in the country with 34 goals in 11 matches. Bruno Lapa leads the way with 26 points (9g, 8a). Omir Fernandez is right behind with eight goals and three assists. Lapa and Fernandez are first and second, respectively, in the ACC in points and goals. Lapa also leads the ACC in assists.

In goal for the Demon Deacons is Andreu Cases Mundet. He has played every minute for Wake Forest and has a .757 save percentage and a 0.80 goals against average.

THE SERIES
Wake Forest leads the all-time series, 3-1-2. The last two matches have resulted in a tie, however, the home team prevailed in the first four meetings between the two squads.

Syracuse traveled to Winston-Salem last season to face Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons outshot the Orange, 22-9, but Hendrik Hilpert made a career-high nine saves and the game the ended in a 0-0 tie. Hilpert earned ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance.

UP NEXT
Syracuse will face Ohio State at home on Monday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. It's "Alex Bono Bobblehead Night" at the SU Soccer Stadium and the first 200 fans to enter the main entrance will get a bobblehead, featuring the 2014 first-team All-American and MAC Hermann Trophy finalist.
