LONDON – Syracuse junior midfielder Georgia Allen is heading back across the pond to train with the England women's U21 national team.
England head coach Mo Marley announced the 22-player squad Thursday, Nov. 1, selecting the Orange standout for this month's training camp. The Young Lionesses will train at St. George's Park National Football Centre in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England, from Nov. 4-7.
Allen, originally from Suffolk, is no stranger to the Young Lionesses squad. She represented England at the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in France this past summer, playing in four matches and scoring the match-winning goal in penalties to help England beat France, 4-2, to claim the bronze medal.
Prior to her international caps this summer, Allen first competed for England in 2011 with the U15 team. She made her international debut in 2012 against the Republic of Ireland, and the midfielder participated in the 2017 UEFA Women's U19 European Championship, tallying a pair of goals in England's 2-0 victory over Italy in the group stage.
The Orange wrapped up their 2018 season last week. Allen started in 14 of her 15 games played, finishing the year tied for third on the team in scoring with two goals and four points.
