Hilpert Named First-Team Academic All-American

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse senior Hendrik Hilpert has been voted to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team. He is making his third consecutive appearance on the Academic All-America team and his first on the first team.

Hilpert becomes just the third Syracuse student-athlete and first men's soccer player to earn Academic All-America honors three times. In addition, he is the second player in program history to earn first-team Academic All-America honors, joining Gabriel Gervais (2000).

The finance and economics major ends his career ranked fourth on Syracuse's all-time wins list (35) and third in career shutouts (23). Hilpert finished the 2018 season with four shutouts and a .687 save percentage. He was named the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week and ACC Defensive Player of the Week after he made five saves in a 2-0 win against No. 1 Wake Forest.

Hilpert was an Academic All-America Second Team selection last season after being named to the third team as a sophomore. He earned the Martin J. Whitman School of Management Freshman of the Year award and has been a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester.
