Hurff’s Game-Winning Goal Lifts USA Past Chile

Manheim, Pa. – Laura Hurff scored the game-winning goal in a 6-0 Team USA win over Chile Wednesday night at Spooky Nook Sports. The former Syracuse field hockey standout and NFHCA All-American was named to the U.S. Women's National Team on March 2 following a weeklong trial.
Hurff scored in the fourth minute when she finished on a drive by teammate Melissa Gonzalez that filtered through a few players before meeting the stick of the former Orange. The Red, White and Blue went on to score two more goals to take a 3-0 lead into the second quarter.
Team USA scored a goal in each the second, third and fourth quarters to secure the 6-0 victory.
Wednesday's game was the second of a four-match series scheduled this week between USA and Chile. The opener ended in a 2-2 draw Monday night. The two return to action Friday, April 13 at 6:30 pm ET and the finale is scheduled for Saturday, April 14 at 6:30 pm (ET).
