SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's soccer team added more depth to the goalkeeper position with the transfer of graduate student Jordan Harris, as announced by the team on Friday. Before coming to Syracuse, Harris spent three seasons in the Southeastern Conference as a goalkeeper for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
"Having an accomplished an experienced goalkeeper like Jordan on our squad will bring a new dimension to our young team," said head coach Phil Wheddon. "Her tournament experience and leadership will be a fantastic addition to the group and we am excited to see her compete and look forward to working with her in the preseason."
In three years of action at Arkansas, Harris totaled 83 saves in goal, allowing 20 goals against in 33 games played. As a redshirt junior, Harris posted a 0.77 goals against average and helped the Razorbacks to an 8-6-2 record. In those 17 games, she posted a team-leading eight shutouts.
Harris was a member of an Arkansas team that earned back-to-back NCAA Tournament bids her redshirt sophomore and junior seasons.
One of just two seniors on the 2018 Orange roster, Harris will not only provide leadership on the team but also in the goalkeeper position, as the two other keepers, Lysianne Proulx and Ally Wakeman, are a sophomore and freshman, respectively.
Harris and the rest of the Orange will be back in action on August 16 when they host La Salle for the season opener. Kick-off is slated for 6 p.m.
