SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse (0-3) is back home again this weekend to host Northeastern (1-0) for a two game set at Tennity Ice Pavilion. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 and 3 p.m. for Saturday Oct. 12. Parking and admission to both games is free. This weekend is Alumni Weekend for the Orange, who will celebrate returning alums on Friday. Fans can watch the games via Cuse.com/watch.

Returning alumni include 100-point club member, 2015-16 CHA Player of the Year, and current Northeastern Director of Operations Melissa Piacentini; 2015-16 CHA Defenseman of the Year and current Long Island hockey assistant coach Nicole Renault; 'Cuse save leader Lucy Schoedel; Orange short-handed goal leader Holly Carrie-Mattimoe; all-time single-season goal leader for defenders and PWHPA member Jacquie Greco, and more.
DiGirolamo Honored
Junior defender Jessica DiGirolamo was named the College Hockey America Player of the Week for her three-point performance on Sunday against No. 7 Boston College. DiGirolamo had a night, recording one goal and two assists in the contest. This is the second CHA weekly honor of DiGirolamo's career. She was previously named the Rookie of the Week during her freshman season.

Last Time Out
The Orange lost, 4-3, against No. 7 Boston College in a single-game series last weekend. After falling behind early, 'Cuse mounted a third period comeback that featured two goals in 11 minutes, but the Orange fell just short as time expired before they could net the equalizer. Senior Anonda Hoppner and juniors Emma Polaski and DiGirolamo scored for the Orange. DiGirolamo also assisted on the other two goals en route to a three-point day.
Series History
The Huskies and Orange first faced off on Oct. 1, 2010 in Syracuse's season opener at Tennity Ice Pavilion, ending the day in a 4-4 tie. The two programs have played each other nine times over the previous seven years. The Huskies hold a 6-1-3 series lead over Syracuse. The Orange most recently hosted Northeastern for two games in October 2017 when the Huskies won both 5-1.
Scouting Northeastern
The Huskies defeated Union, 5-0, on Friday Oct. 4, in their season opener, and all five goals were scored by different players. Sophomore forward Alina Mueller had a goal and two assists in the victory. Mueller, a key returner for the Huskies, is coming off of a team-leading 21 goals and 30 assists last season. Northeastern also returns junior goaltender Aerin Frankel, the reigning Hockey East Goaltender of the Year. Frankel holds a 21-4-3 record between the pipes.

The Huskies are coming off of a 27-6-5 season that culminated in a Hockey East Tournament title. Northeastern advanced to the NCAA Tournament where they lost, 3-2, to No. 6 Cornell in overtime.
