
Raposo Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Atlantic Coast Conference has named Syracuse sophomore Ryan Raposo ACC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against No. 18 North Carolina. It marks the first weekly conference honor for Raposo in his career.

Raposo posted career highs in points (6) and goals (3) to help Syracuse defeat the Tar Heels, 4-3, in Chapel Hill on Saturday. He started the scoring 42 seconds into the match to give the Orange an early lead. After North Carolina scored three unanswered goals, Raposo sparked Syracuse's comeback with a goal in the 71st minute. The Orange tied the match on Sondre Norheim's goal in the 74th minute, and Raposo recorded the game winner in the 88th minute to complete the hat trick.

The Hamilton, Ontario native, who is majoring in sport management, leads the team in points with 17 and goals with seven. Both totals are career highs.

Raposo and the Orange return to the pitch on Tuesday, Oct. 15 when they host Connecticut at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. The game will be streamed on ACCNX. Syracuse is celebrating Pink Day and all fans are encouraged to wear pink. Tiana Mangakahia, a member of the women's basketball team, will participate in the pregame coin toss.
